Families Mourn Mass. Natives Killed in Oakland Fire

Three Massachusetts natives were reported missing during the tragic warehouse fire in Oakland, California. Two of them are now confirmed dead.

Micah Danemayer, 28, and 34-year-old Amanda Allen Kershaw were among the dozens killed in the blaze Friday night.

Danemayer was originally from Somerville. His father said Tuesday he was a creative, loving person who will be missed.

"Last Friday our son, Micha Danemayer, was among the dozens of young souls lost," the family said in a statement. "We will miss him, and the weirdness and creativity and love that trailed in his wake."

Kershaw drew similar praise from those who knew her here. She was originally from Chelmsford. A close friend of hers from high school spoke with necn Tuesday.

"Amanda is a person full of life. It's really amazing that she's gone this young, in a sad way" said Peter Sylvan. "In a sad way, that she's gone so quickly, and so young, at least she was doing what she loved to do.

Peter Wadsworth of Cohasset was also at the scene of the fire. At last check, he was still considered missing.
