Family, Friends Mourn 16-Year-Old Shot and Killed in Worcester

By candlelight, family and friends shared memories of Sidney Krow, Jr., the 16-year-old who was shot and killed Saturday night in Worcester, Massachusetts.

“He loved everybody,” said his sister Najah Krow. “Everybody was his friend.”

They came together at a Worcester park Monday night where Krow Jr. often played basketball.

“He’ll make you smile when you’re down,” said friend Angel Martinez.

Police say Krow Jr. and his friends were walking near Main Street when someone walked up and opened fire.

“I think it’s totally senseless,” said family friend Jean Chavis. “I think there’s a coward out there somewhere, they need to step forward and make things right, this should not have happened, totally innocent young man.”

Investigators say the suspect jumped into a car and took off from the scene.

“Whoever did this you guys should feel cruel,” said cousin Keandre Adams. “You took somebody I really loved.”

While the investigation takes place, friends and family are left to pick up the pieces of their sudden loss.

“He was not gang-related whatsoever,” said Najah. “That was my best friend.”

Family members say Krow Jr. had talked about joining the military someday.

So far police have not released any information about any possible suspects in his death.

Krow Jr.’s death was Worcester’s first homicide of 2018.
