Tom Brady has followed through on his plans to send a football to a California man who was forced to abandon his home due to the devastating Camp Fire, saving only his #12 Pats jersey on his way out the door.
Christian Holland, who lost his home in Paradise, California to the deadly fire in November, has received a signed football from the Patriots quarterback, according to a post from the New England fan.
"A little 'Silver Lining' to the story that is my life, The Football Tom Brady sent me!" the Facebook post read. "Thank you my friends for all of your support during this very difficult and trying time..."
Good News Movement, who originally helped Brady track down the fan, also shared the happy news on Instagram.
"MAN WHOSE HOUSE BURNT DOWN GETS SIGNED FOOTBALL FROM HIS IDOL TOM BRADY: Happy we played a small part in connecting Christian Holland with @tombrady . Christian’s home burnt to the ground and the only thing he saved was his Brady jersey. Brady posted a pic searching for him so I put on my reporter hat and found him. When I told Christian that Tom Brady, his idol, was looking for him, his first words were HOLY COW. He had no idea as he doesn’t use Instagram," Saturday's post read. "Today, he got the signed football in the mail! This is what the page is about-using this platform for good and to brighten people’s day."
NBC10 Boston spoke to Holland via Skype in November at which time he described himself as a die hard Patriots fan.
Brady took notice of Holland after the fan took to social media to announce he had saved the #12 jersey from the fire. The Pats QB originally posted on Instagram on Nov. 29 looking for someone to get him an address for Holland.
Brady later confirmed at a Patriots media availability that they were able to get in touch with Holland and he was going to send him something.
When speaking to NBC10 Boston in November, Holland said that he didn't get to speak to Brady himself, but that he had sent him a P.O. box for that ball that he was looking forward to receiving.
"It’s like so unbelievable actually. This doesn’t happen every single day when somebody has a champion like Tom reaches out to you," Holland said at the time. "There was just no time to grab anything else and I'm glad I did."
