    Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Worcester Under Investigation

    A fatal motorcycle crash early Sunday morning in Worcester in under investigation.

    Worcester Police responded to a call near 631 Franklin St. around 4:10 a.m. for a report of a single-vehicle crash that has claimed the life of a 23-year-old Worcester man, whose name has not been released.

    The preliminary investigation indicates the victim was riding east on Franklin Street when he lost control of his motorcycle and crossed over to the other side of the road, striking a curb and then a small tree and light pole. Police believe the man was killed instantly; he was pronounced dead at the scene.

    The collision was called in by a person walking by the scene, who did not witness the crash.

    A would-be robber armed with a knife had a surprise in store when an Alabama store clerk pulled out a machete in defense. The two's brief knife fight was caught on camera before the clerk runs out to damage the robber's car.

    According to police, suspect Seth Holcomb walked up to the counter to make a purchase. He leaves the store and then comes back in as if to make a second purchase. Then, he pulled out a knife at the counter. What he didn't expect was that the clerk would pull out a machete of his own.
