The father who allegedly took his 7-year-old son in Trumbull and prompted an amber alert has been placed under arrest, police said.
Rodolfo Revello was arrested in the Bronx, New York, after he took his son from his mother's house in Trumbull earlier this month after allegedly beating the woman, police said at the time of the incident. U.S. Marshals made the arrest.
The boy, who had been missing since 4:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 12, was found safe in Queens later that night.
Revello, 43, forced his way into his son's mother's home and took their 7-year-old son, Ariel, according to police.
The child's mother, who did not want to be identified publicly, spoke with NBC Connecticut about Revello's arrest.
She said she had just gotten home from work and went to bed around 3 a.m. on Saturday, March 12. Her two sons, ages 7 and 18, were at home with her and she heard the home's alarm system begin to sound.
She turned it off, she said, only to see her estranged husband standing feet from her bed.
The woman said Revello began choking and biting her and it felt like it "lasted forever."
Trumbull Police said the woman's teenage son tried to fend Revello off.
At one point, Revello grabbed a knife from the kitchen but his 18-year-old stepson.disarmed him.

The mother said Revello came back at her once again, which is when she said she jumped out a second-floor bedroom window to the hard ground below in an effort to escape.
Police said Revello then took jewelry and several thousand dollars in cash and his son and then drove away. An amber alert was issued in both Connecticut and New York.
The boy's mother told NBC Connecticut that it was extremely difficult "just sitting; just sitting and waiting for a phone call."
According to police, Revello, who has a criminal record, did have visitation rights with his son while the mother would be at work.
Revello has been charged with second-degree kidnapping, second-degree larceny, criminal violation of a restraining order, second-degree strangulation, second-degree assault, second-degree threatening, second-degree criminal mischief and disorderly conduct.
His bond as been set at $500,000. He is due in court today.
