‘Father of UMass Lowell' Dies at 84

The man known as 'The Father of U-Mass Lowell' has died.

William Hogan led the University for 25 years before it joined the U-Mass system.

Hogan is credited with building close ties with the city of Lowell, and establishing the university as a strong research institution.

He was 84-years-old.
