Filing Period to Run in N.H. Primary Set to Open

The New Hampshire Statehouse will be bustling with presidential candidates this week, as the filing period to run in the nation's first primary kicks off Wednesday.

The filing period to run in the February primary continues through Nov. 20 and is likely to bring political spectacle to Concord - with candidates seeking to pack the halls of the Statehouse with supporters.

Former Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley, a Democrat, plans to be the first major candidate to file. Florida Sen. Marco Rubio and former technology executive Carly Fiorina, both Republicans, plan to file Thursday, as does Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders. A long-proclaimed independent, he could face a challenge to his ability to run as a Democrat.

Republican Govs. John Kasich of Ohio and Chris Christie of New Jersey are set to file Friday.
