Two People Killed in 2-Alarm Fire in Worcester, Massachusetts

An elderly man and an elderly woman are dead after a 2-alarm fire broke out Sunday evening in Worcester, Massachusetts.

The victims, Mary Grace Fusaro, 85, and Nicholas Fusaro, 71, were pronounced dead after being taken to a hospital.

"It's unusual at this time of the day. They made entry and found the two victims fairly quickly and removed them, but unfortunately, they succumbed to their injuries," Worcester Fire Deputy Chief John Sullivan said.

The fire, which happened on Burncoat Street around 8 p.m., came up from the basement and burned through all three floors of the home.

Sullivan said the fire does not appear to be suspicious, but the cause is not yet known.
