Firefighter Injured, 7 Residents Displaced After Hyde Park Building Fire

One firefighter was injured early Tuesday morning and 7 people were displaced after a fire broke out at a home in Boston's Hyde Park neighborhood.

Firefighters arrived to 1531-1533 Hyde Park Ave. at 5:50 a.m. where heavy smoke was showing. Officials said the two-alarm fire in the basement then extended to the building's upper floors.

One firefighter was taken to an area hospital by Boston EMS for treatment of unknown injuries.

Fire officials said the 7 adult residents displaced by the blaze will be staying with family and friends.

While the exact cause of the fire is under investigation, authorities estimate the damage to the building at $100,000.
