Firefighter Seriously Injured in Hit-and-Run, Police Looking for Driver

A firefighter was seriously injured Friday night in a hit-and-run pedestrian crash in Wareham, Massachusetts.

Police confirm the firefighter, who was on duty, was hit by a vehicle at the intersection of Cranberry Highway and Onset Avenue while responding to an incident during Friday's nor'easter.

The firefighter, whose name was not released, was taken to Rhode Island Hospital.

Officials are looking for the driver's car, which they describe as a gray colored, newer model Subaru Hatchback, which likely has extensive side mirror and front and passenger side damage.

Police noted the car headed east on Cranberry Highway toward Bourne immediately after hitting the firefighter.
