Massive Boston Fire Causes $1M in Damage

The four-alarm fire broke out in a vacant brown-stone on East 4th Street

No one was injured after a massive fire in South Boston Monday night.

The four-alarm fire broke out in a vacant brown-stone on East 4th Street.

Five people who lived next door are now forced to stay with family and friends.

Officials said it looks like the building was undergoing renovations, and investigators determined that floor finishing materials, including oily rags stored in trash bags, caused the fire.

The fire caused an estimated $1 million in damage.
