Firefighters From More Than 18 Communities Battle 4-Alarm Fire

The fire broke out around 9:30 p.m. in the area of 126 River Road

Firefighters from more than a dozen communities were called out to battle a four-alarm fire which destroyed a landscaping business in Sturbridge, Massachusetts, Monday night.

The fire broke out around 9:30 p.m. in the area of 126 River Road. Arriving firefighters found flames shooting out of the building.

Fire Chief David Zinther said, "We had some explosions. He had propane in the building. He had settling torches in the building and that's why we had to take a defensive approach."

Additional firefighters and equipment had to be brought in from 18 communities and the road had to be shut down.

No injuries were reported. Firefighters manages to keep the blaze contained.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
