Fire at Senior Housing Complex; 46 People Displaced

Firefighters responded Tuesday morning to the scene of a 2-alarm blaze at a senior housing complex in Boston.

Smoke could be seen on multiple floors of the 25 Ditson St. building. The flames started on the second floor, before expanding to the third floor and through the roof.

The fire, which was quickly put out, has left behind an estimated $500,000 in damages. There is now water in the electric system.

The complex houses 40 apartments with 46 residents. All are expected to be displaced.

One firefighter suffered minor injuries.

The cause of the fire was an electrical short in the wiring in a pipe chase.
