    What to Know

    • Firefighters responded to a new gas leak in Lawrence, Massachusetts, on Saturday morning.

    • The leak was reported just two days after a series of gas-fueled explosions started 60 to 80 fires in Lawrence, Andover and North Andover.

    • One person was killed and 25 others injured in Thursday's blasts.

A report of a strong gas odor brought officials back to a part of Lawrence, Massachusetts that was most impacted by the explosions and fires Saturday morning.

Firefighters responded to a gas leak in the basement of a building on South Broadway Street near Shattuck Street.

The street was shut down as firefighters and gas workers opened manholes, tested gas levels and tried to gain access to businesses on the city's south side.

The situation appeared to be contained by 11:15 a.m.
