Firetruck Damaged After Rolling Over on Icy Road

The accident occurred around 11:55 a.m. Sunday after Engine 4 was dispatched to investigate reports of a home's carbon monoxide detector going off

The front end of a town of Harrison, Maine, firetruck was significantly damaged after it slid down an icy road and rolled over while firefighters were returning from a call in southern Maine.

The Portland Press Herald reports the accident occurred around 11:55 a.m. Sunday after Engine 4 was dispatched to investigate reports of a home's carbon monoxide detector going off.

Town Manager George Finch says volunteer firefighter Maurice Kautz lost control of the truck as it continued along Harrison Heights Road before rolling over into a wooded area.

No one was seriously injured.

Finch says the road was plowed but only "limited" amounts of sand had been applied to it.
