First Alert in Effect for Tuesday Storm

A First Alert is up for Tuesday, as our next storm brings snow and a wintry mix to New England.

The storm is on track to arrive during the day on Tuesday, from southwest to northeast. Initially it will be cold enough for snow.

At this point it appears as though the morning commute will be fine, with snow spreading in primarily during the afternoon and evening, impacting the drive home.

As the storm continues to come closer, warmer air will get involved. That means the snow will change to a wintry mix, and then rain, in Southern New England Tuesday night into early Wednesday.

That rain or wintry mix continues early Wednesday in Southern New England, before tapering off, while mostly snow falls for a good portion of the day across the mountains of Northern New England. That’s where accumulations are likely to be most significant.
