First Signs of Fall Foliage Emerge

The first foliage reports of the season from Vermont indicate that low color is peeking out in parts

As we cross the half-way point in September, signs of New England’s famed fall foliage are quickly emerging across the landscape.

The first foliage reports of the season from Vermont indicate that low color is peeking out in parts of the highest elevations up and down the spine of the Green Mountains, as well as in the Northeast Kingdom.

Similar pockets of early color are emerging from Northern New Hampshire into far Northern and Western Maine.

The first frost of the season occurred in many of these areas on Friday. Those frosts, paired with sunny days, will continue to draw out more color with time.
