Former Massachusetts Department of Developmental Services Worker Indicted on Allegations of OT Abuse

A former Massachusetts state employee has been indicted amid allegations of overtime abuse, Attorney General Maura Healey announced Monday.

Katelynn Sullivan, 33, of Lowell, has been indicted by a Suffolk County Special Grand Jury on larceny over $250 and false claims.

The attorney general's office alleges that from July 2015 through March 2017, Sullivan was paid for 1,428 hours of overtime that she did not perform while working at the Massachusetts Department of Developmental Services (DDS).

Authorities said Sullivan worked at a group home for adults with intellectual disabilities that is owned and operated by DDS.

During the time she worked, the attorney general's office said employees were required to document the date, time, hours and reason for overtime on a handwritten log. The information would then be approved by a manager and entered into an online payroll platform.

Authorities alleged Sullivan would enter hours she did not work into the online payroll system without authorization.

According to the attorney general's office, Sullivan was paid over $42,500 in false overtime.

Sullivan will be arraigned in Suffolk Superior Court on Feb. 4.
