Former Patriot Arrested on Gun, Sex Charges

Linebacker Jermaine Cunningham, formerly of the Patriots and now a member of the New York Jets, is accused of sending sexual images of a person without consent and transporting a gun illegally, according to reports.

Former New England Patriots linebacker Jermaine Cunningham has been arrested, accused of sending sexual images of a person without consent and illegally transporting a gun, according to NJ.com.

Cunningham, now a member of the new York Jets, was arrested Dec. 29 in Summit, New Jersey. Police say they found a .380 handgun in his Audi after the NFL player gave them consent to search it.

In addition to invasion of privacy and the gun transporting charge, Cunningham is charged with criminal mischief after police say he destroyed clothing.

The Patriots drafted Cunningham in the second round back in 2010. They cut him before the 2013 season. He appeared in two games with the Jets in 2013 and none this season following an ACL tear.
