Former Youth Football Coach Convicted of Child Molestation

Jesse Perry of Bristol, RI, found guilty

A man involved in community youth sports in Bristol, Rhode Island, has been found guilty of child molestation.

Attorney General Peter F. Kilmartin said Tuesday that 61-year-old Jesse Perry, of Bristol, was found guilty of two counts of first-degree child molestation and one count of second-degree child molestation in Superior Court.

Prosecutors say that as a youth football coach, Perry molested a young man on multiple occasions between 1990 and 1997. He was held without bail until sentencing.

Perry's lawyer could not immediately be reached for comment.

Perry's brother, Richard, was also involved in youth sports in Bristol and has been accused of child molestation. He pleaded not guilty and his trial starts Monday.

The cases involve different alleged victims.
