SUV Hits Gas Station Employee, Critically Injuring Him

The Mobil gas station employee was pistol-whipped during an armed robbery in January

A 64-year-old gas station attendant was critically injured Monday night when an SUV hit him at a Mobil in Weymouth, Massachusetts.

Police said the man was injured around 8:30 p.m. when he was hit by a black SUV that was due to be serviced on Tuesday. Officials said he hit his head on the pavement and was taken to South Shore Hospital.

"Nothing we can do. Nobody meant it and the lady — she knows him and was very sad because he was really nice with her," the manager of the Mobil said. "Bad luck for us and bad luck for her."

The manager of the gas station also confirmed that the same employee was pistol-whipped during a violent robbery in January.

Footage of the scene show authorities responding to the injured man prior to his hospitalization.

Police said the driver of the SUV stayed at the scene and is cooperating with authorities.

"I hope he can make it," said the manager.
