Fire Damages Home in Gloucester, Massachusetts

The cause is believed to be careless disposal of smoking materials

Fire officials are investigating the cause of a fire that broke out at 1 Harbor Road in Gloucester, Massachusetts on Friday night.

When firefighters arrived, all residents had already left the home. A two-story wood frame structure showed fire on the covered porch, extending up the front side of the building

No one was injured in the fire.

Fire Chief Eric Smith believes the cause was careless disposal of smoking materials. Damage is estimated at $25,000.

The home is currently uninhabitable.
