A special ceremony was held in Lawrence, Massachusetts, Monday morning to honor fallen service members.
Carlos Arredondo was the keynote speaker at the ceremony, which was dedicated to gold star families who lost loved ones in combat.
Arredondo helped injured people when bombs went off at the Boston Marathon two years ago. More than a decade ago, he lost a son in Iraq. "It's important to remember them and also share these memories with the public so we all can relate it to what we are grieving for," he said.
The Arredondo Family Foundation was recently established. The group works with military families in need, dealing with issues such as suicide.
