A gun was found stashed in the toilet of a holding cell at a Boston courthouse Monday, the NBC Boston Investigators have learned.
According to trial court officials, the pistol was left unloaded in the plumbing in a general prisoner holding cell at Edward W. Brooke Courthouse.
When no prisoners are in the cell, authorities say the area is not secured.
The gun has been handed over to police, who are investigating.
The courthouse has increased its security measures following the discovery.
