CORRECTION (May 30, 2017, 9:45 a.m.): NBC Connecticut initially reported that Fieri was spotted at the WoodWinds event, but has since updated the story with the information from his publicist.
Wedding guests at WoodWinds in Branford Sunday night thought they spotted a famous face.
The venue posted a photo of a guest with who they identified as celebrity chef and TV personality Guy Fieri on their Facebook page.
The photo was captioned “Just met guy fieri. Heading straight to flavortown.”
However, Fieri's publicists said they were not aware of Fieri making any trips to Connecticut and could not confirm it was him.
Fieri is a restaurateur and TV host. According to his biography on the Food Network website, his career started in 1996 when he opened Johnny Garlic’s in Santa Rosa, California. Today he owns multiple restaurants across the country, including one at Foxwoods Resort Casino, and hosts two shows on the network – Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives and Guy’s Grocery Games.
