A fourth person has died a week after a crash that went unnoticed for more than 15 hours in Hampton Falls, New Hampshire.
Daniel Petruzzelli, 19, of Manchester, had been hospitalized at Portsmouth Regional Hospital since the crash was discovered on July 29. New Hampshire State Police said Sunday that Petruzzelli died at the hospital on Aug. 4 as a result of his injuries.
Petruzzelli was a passenger in a 2009 Nissan Altima that was traveling west on Route 88 when it went off the road going around a curve and struck a stand of trees.
Police believe excessive speed was a contributing factor to the crash.
The driver, Jacob Raymond, 21, of Exeter, died on scene. Passengers Sarah Frost, 18, of Exeter, and Stephen Hansen, 22, of Seabrook were also killed in the crash, while Petruzzelli was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Family members of Raymond, Frost and Hansen had been in shock following the fatal crash.
Investigators believe the crash happened Saturday evening, possibly as early as 6:30 p.m., but it wasn't reported until 11 a.m. Sunday, when a passer-by walking along the roadway noticed the car hidden by some trees.

Authorities are asking anyone who may have had contact with Raymond, Frost, Hansen or Petruzzelli on July 28 to contact Trooper Kevin Dobson of the New Hampshire State Police at 603-679-3333.
The fatal crash remains under investigation.
