A New Hampshire pet groomer is facing animal cruelty charges in connection to an incident involving the death of a dog that was allegedly found held in a noose.
Following an investigation, Beth Bessemer, 57, of Hampton, was arrested Saturday, Aug. 28, on two counts of cruelty to animals.
Police said they had received a complaint from a woman who said her golden retriever died while in the care of Bessemer on June 21.
Investigators said Bessemer left the dog unattended in a crate with a heated dryer blowing on him and with a noose around his neck, causing his death.
Authorities also alleged Bessemer deprived the dog of "necessary care and sustenance" by leaving him unattended.
After a warrant was issued on Sept. 19, Bessemer turned herself into police.
She was released on her own recognizance and is scheduled to be arraigned on Oct. 30 in the 10th Circuit- Seabrook District Court.

Bessemer has been prohibited from contact with other people's pets as part of the conditions of bail.
It's unclear if she has an attorney.
