Hartford police are asking for the public’s help in tracking down an attempted sex assault suspect.
Police say Jose Santos Pedraza, 64, is wanted on a warrant for an attempted sexual assault of a child between 5-10 years old. The charges stem from an incident where Pedraza lured the child into his apartment and attempted to sexually assault him, according to police.
Pedraza is wanted on charges of fourth degree criminal attempt/sex assault, risk of injury to a minor, and disorderly conduct.
Police say Pedraza is already on the sex offender registry for similar offenses. His current whereabouts are unknown. Anyone with information is asked to call Hartford Police Sgt. Earl Baidy at (860) 757-4276
