Hearing of Case of Fatal Crash Postponed

Kyle Witty, of Cornish, was charged with manslaughter following a July 16, 2014, crash in Merrimack

A judge has postponed a hearing in the case of a New Hampshire man charged in a fatal car collision.

Kyle Witty, of Cornish, was charged with manslaughter following a July 16, 2014, crash in Merrimack that killed 60-year-old Elizabeth McQuinn, of Nashua.

County attorneys say the 44-year-old Witty ran a red light in a dump truck carrying a load of stone and collided with the driver's side of McQuinn's SUV.

The Concord Monitor reports
the judge said starting a partial hearing on Tuesday and continuing it more than a month later was "not a good way to do business." The defense filed five motions, including suppression of evidence and a case dismissal.

The hearing is now scheduled to begin Oct. 29. Jury selection is scheduled for Nov. 30.
