Horses, Alpaca, Goats, Other Animals Removed From Suspected Cruelty Situation

Several animals have been removed from a suspected animal cruelty situation in New Hampshire.

On Tuesday, the New Hampshire SPCA responded to a request from Sandown Police to take the animals.

Four horses, six alpaca, six goats, one cat, three chickens, three doves and 14 ducks and geese were rescued. All of the animals were voluntarily surrendered except for one horse and one goat.

The extent of medical intervention will be determined in the coming days.

"This is a very sad situation," says Lisa Dennison, Executive Director of the New Hampshire SPCA. "The circumstances surrounding this case make it that much more tragic. We were called in by the Sandown Police to bring the animals out of a bad situation and ensure their safety, and that is what we have done. I am proud of our team of staff and volunteers who were prepared to do whatever was needed to end the suffering of these animals, working late into the night in difficult circumstances."
