A firefighter and a civilian were hospitalized after a 3-alarm house fire broke out Tuesday afternoon in Lawrence, Massachusetts.
Crews responded to the blaze on East Haverhill Street near Prospect Street.
According to the mayor's office, 28 residents live in the 5-unit wood frame building.
When firefighters arrived, they found one woman still inside and ushered her out.
The firefighter who was hospitalized suffered moderate injuries in a fall. The civilian had a seizure.
Authorities are asking residents to avoid the area.
