Police are investigating Wednesday after apparent human remains were found in the woods of western Massachusetts.
The remains were discovered in a wooded area in Hatfield, but state police did not specify a location.
The cause of death and the person's identity remain unknown.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is investigating, along with local police and state police assigned to the Northwestern District Attorney's Office.
