A 6-year-old boy was killed in a crash on Interstate 84 east in East Hartford Monday.
The crash happened near the exit 58 entrance ramp around 12:54 p.m. Connecticut State Police said 6-year-old Jayden Caraballo, of East Hartford, was in a booster seat in the Toyota 4-Runner that veered off the right side of the road and crashed into a wooden sound barrier.
The driver of the vehicle, identified by police as the child’s mother, was taken to Hartford Hospital for treatment. Police said Caraballo died on scene.
