In commemoration of the 75th anniversary of D-Day, we sat down with five World War II veterans from New England. Naval Staff Engineer Arthur Rose, Cpl. Charlie Sanderson, Cpl. Fernand Frechette, Naval Officer Graham Alvord, and Staff Sgt. Santo DiSalvo were just young men when they suited up for battle, but could still recall their experiences in vivid detail. Their actions would help spark the end of World War II. Here are some photos provided by the veterans that offer a glimpse at what they experienced.
