A 16-year-old girl from Brockton, Massachusetts, kept her cool during a home invasion on Monday, calling 911 as she hid in a bathroom.
Brockton Police said the girl was home alone around 3:15 p.m. Monday when she heard the sound of breaking glass and footsteps. Her mother was on her way home from work at the time. The girl called police and spoke with a dispatcher as police sped to the scene.
On the 911 call, released by police, the dispatcher calmly talks the girl through the situation, telling her to keep quiet and comforting her when the girl said that she was scared and began sobbing. Police eventually arrived and apprehended the suspect.
Louis P. Breton, 52, of 50 Dimock St., Roxbury, was charged with felony breaking and entering and putting a person in fear, larceny over $250, malicious destruction of property over $250, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace. He was ordered to be held on $75,000 bail.
