The Federal Bureau of Investigation is asking for help tracking down a suspect who has been threatening clerks and stealing money from Massachusetts gas stations and convenience stores.

He's hit businesses in the Hyde Park and Roslindale areas of Boston, as well as in Canton, Stoughton and Randolph.

Authorities say he wears a mask and some kind of hood. He sometimes shows a gun, and he may walk with a limp.

"The guy came in, he had a mask on his face, and he asked for the money," said Mannys Sanchez, who works at W&G Express in Roslindale.

The robberies date back to last August.

A Mobil in Hyde Park has been hit three times. On one occasion, the man told the clerk he had "child support to pay."

At a Mobil in Canton, authorities say he threatened to shoot the cashier.

And at W&G Express in Roslindale, he said he needed the money to pay for diapers.

The FBI is worried that eventually, things could turn more violent. The bureau is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for any information that leads to an arrest and prosecution.
