Police Investigating Indecent Assault of Tufts Student

The female student told police that her assailant followed her to her porch before the assault

Authorities are investigating after a female student at Tufts University reported an indecent assault to police that occurred Sunday morning.

According to an advisory sent to students, the assault happened while the student was walking to her home near Tufts' campus.

The student reported that while walking home around 12:15 a.m., a male followed her to her front porch. When the student turned around, her pursuer indecently touched her.

The male suspect then fled the area towards Conwell Avenue. The victim was not injured.

An initial search by university police, Somerville police and Medford police did not locate or identify a suspect.

The suspect is described as a male in his late teens to early 20s, 5'8'' in height, wearing a black and blue jacket and black pants.
