Injured Maine Woman Rescued Near Summit of New Hampshire's Mount Webster

New Hampshire Fish and Game officials say rescuers carried a Maine woman more than three miles to a trailhead after she was fell and injured her leg near the summit of Mount Webster.

Officials say 24-year-old Jennifer Dube of Portland, Maine, fell while descending a steep portion of the Webster Trail in the White Mountain National Forest.

Unable to walk, Dube and her companion called 911 at about 2:30 Saturday afternoon.

Officers from Fish and Game and multiple local agencies assisted in the rescue, which they say was difficult due to the rough terrain, inclement weather and snow and ice covering portions of the trail.

Dube and her rescuers reached the trailhead at about 10:45 p.m. She was taken by ambulance to Littleton Regional Hospital for treatment.
