Investigation Underway After 50-Year-Old Woman Fatally Shot

A state police evidence team is at work as detectives try to determine the circumstances surrounding a shooting death in Westbrook, Maine. 

State police say 50-year-old Norma Bridges was fatally shot Monday night in her home. Westbrook Police Chief Janine Roberts described the death as suspicious. 

Steve McCausland of the Maine Department of Public Safety said there are a number of questions that need to be answered, and that detectives are endeavoring to get those answers. 

McCausland said the gun was recovered and that an autopsy will be conducted.
