Maine Police Seek Help in Identifying Body Found in Leeds

Officials in Maine are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man whose body was found in a wooded area in Leeds Saturday afternoon.

The body was discovered off Bernie Hartford Road by a couple riding their ATV around 5 p.m. They notified authorities immediately.

An autopsy is underway to determine the cause and manner of death.

Detectives say the victim is a black male between the ages of 20 and 40. He was 5’9’’ tall and weighed around 110 pounds. He had closely cropped hair on the side but long and curly on top with an L-shaped scar on his right arm.

The man was found wearing black pants, black pull over jacket with a white horizontal stripe on the front, black Nike Air Jordan sneakers with gray treads.

Anyone with information regarding the incident or the man’s identification is asked to call the State Police in Augusta at 207-624-7076.
