Investigation on Indecent Exposure at Hingham Massachusetts Library Continues

Police are reviewing surveillance from a Hingham, Massachusetts library after a man exposed himself to a woman Monday afternoon.

A 29-year-old woman told police she was seated at a table on the second floor of the Hingham Public Library when a man seated on the ground nearby exposed himself.

"For a nice library like this, that's pretty disgusting," patron John Rosemund said. "I see a lot of kids here with their mothers."

The woman reported the exposure to library officials who then called the police. By the time police arrived, the man fled the scene.

"It's a cautionary note for parents who drop their kids off at any library in any town," agreed Mark Murphy. "You just never know and you can't be too safe, and it's a shame."

Officials described the man as about 30-40 years old who had been wearing an orange and yellow plaid short sleeve shirt.

The incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information is urged to contact Hingham Police Detectives at 781-741-1443.
