Firefighters say a fire at a church in Dummerston, Vermont, that caused about $25,000 in damage was deliberately set.
The fire was reported Monday night at the Congregational Church. Firefighters saw smoke coming out of the second floor and requested help from surrounding communities.
Firefighters said a passer-by used a fire extinguisher in the church to help out the flames. There was no one in the building at the time and no injuries.
Investigators have determined the fire was intentionally set. Anyone with information about the fire is asked to call the Arson Tip Line at 1-800-32-ARSON or the Vermont State Police at the Rockingham Barracks at 802-875-2112.
