Jogger Struck by Vehicle

Speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash

A jogger has been hospitalized with hip and head injuries after she was struck by a vehicle at an intersection in Burlington.

Police said the vehicle being operated by 61-year-old Francis Metivier of Burlington was traveling west on North Street, turning left onto North Winooski Avenue on Saturday night. At this time, 21-year-old Amber Greenwood of Burlington was running on a sidewalk and entered the road. Her condition was not immediately available Monday.

Police said speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash. They are still investigating.
