    If you've lived in Boston your whole life, you've never experienced a hotter July than this one.

    In fact, it's the city's hottest July in recorded history, and residents and visitors are ready for the heat to break.

    "When you're at the beach, it's fine. When you're in the city, it's much worse," said Pontus Blume, who was cooling off at Carsson Beach during his visit from Sweden.

    The heat set another record: The first time meteorologists ever recorded Boston having back-to-back nights of at least 80-degree temperatures.
