Olympic champion and Massachusetts native Kayla Harrison, arrived home from Rio on Tuesday to cheers at Boston's Logan Airport.
"Its really awesome," Harrison said. "It's heartwarming."
The Marblehead native brought home another gold medal in judo, defending her 2012 title.
"Standing on top of a podium is amazing but getting a welcome home like that is indescribable," Harrison said.
And not only was it a homecoming for Harrison, but for two other local Olympians who came back from Rio with medals as well.
"People are saying they haven't seen me smile this much in history in its true I'm on top of the world right now," said Travis Stevens, who took home a silver medal in the sport.
Stevens brought home his first silver while Gevvie Stone also brought home silver for ladies single rowing.

"As a kid, you watch the Olympics and you imagine it," said Stone. "A lot of people, it doesn't get to happen exactly that way so to get to be one of the few is pretty incredible."
As for Harrison, there are many questions already circulating about her future in judo. She's however not saying if she'll start training for MMA fighting, instead, she's skipping practice and enjoying the moment.
"I've missed home for a while now," Harrison said. "It's been a long four years. To end it on such a high note and to be able to share it with all the people that I love and care about is amazing."
