Keene, New Hampshire, Police Say Woman Threw 6-Month-Old to the Ground

Police in Keene, New Hampshire, have charged a woman with first-degree assault after they say she threw her baby to the ground hard enough to fracture his skull.

Police say they were called to investigate a possible case of child abuse on Tuesday.

Authorities say 30-year-old Miranda Baillargeon of Viroque, Wisconsin, was arrested Thursday morning. She was arraigned in Keene District Court and is being held on $50,000 bail.

Keene police say she grabbed her 6-month-old son by the head and threw him to the ground. The press release issued by the department does not say where the incident took place.

It was not immediately known if Baillargeon has a lawyer.
