Keurig Dr Pepper to Lay Off About 120 Employees in VT

Keurig Dr. Pepper says it is letting go about 120 employees in Vermont, as part of a larger workforce reduction nationwide.

The cutting of about 500 jobs is the result of a merger between Dr. Pepper Snapple Group Inc. and Keurig Green Mountain, Inc., which was announced in January. The Burlington Free Press reports most of the Vermont layoffs result from closing a research and development center in Waterbury.

The employees at the Waterbury center will continue to work through January. According to a company spokeswoman, all employees who lost their jobs will receive severance packages.

The Vermont cuts amount to about a tenth of Keurig Dr. Pepper's 1,200-person total workforce statewide.
