Beginning Monday evening, there will be no flights coming in or out of Logan Airport in anticipation of the upcoming blizzard expected to drop three feet of snow in the area.

Edward Freni, Director of Aviation, said the airport will have its last departure around 7:30-8 Monday night. All aircraft will be relocated out of the Boston area after that.

He said a large amount of airlines have indicated they will not be flying in or out of Logan Tuesday.

At least 5,000 flights have been cancelled along the east coast.

One-to-three feet of snow is expected throughout New England, prompting early closures, emergency shelters to open, and crews planning to tackle a barrage of snow.

The snow is expected to start early Monday afternoon and last until Wednesday.
