Large Fire Breaks Out at Vacant Building in Boston's Roxbury Neighborhood

Crews battled flames from outside the vacant building

Firefighters responded to a 2-alarm fire in Boston’s Roxbury neighborhood early Tuesday morning. 

The fire broke out at 69 Walnut St. around 1:30 a.m. 

Crews battled flames from outside the vacant building, which had most of its doors and windows boarded up. 

Fire officials say it was labor intensive because they were trying to open up ceilings and walls. 

The damage is estimated at $300,000. 

No injuries have been reported. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
