Lasers Pointed at Flights to and From Maine

Lasers were pointed at two planes, one heading to Maine and departing from that state, in an area north of Boston, crews on the flights reported Friday evening, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

Air Wisconsin Flight 3787 was heading from Portland to Washington, D.C., while Flight 4188 was en route to Portland from Philadelphia. At 7:43 p.m., about 30 miles north of Logan International Airport, crews say both planes were illuminated by a lasers, the FAA said.

Both planes are CRJ 200 aircraft.

Local authorities have been notified about the incident, which remains under investigation by the FAA.
